Recognitions
The board recognized the Skyline High MESA Team for taking first place overall in the MESA USA National Engineering Design Competition in Arizona.

The board recognized Cottonwood High English teacher Lauren Merkley as the 2019 Granite School District Teacher of the Year.

The board recognized Utah legislators Kathleen Riebe, Karen Mayne, and Mike Winder as Friends of Education.

Mayor Participation
Taylorsville City Mayor Kristie S. Overson addressed the board concerning police efforts to increase safety in and around school zones.

Information Item
Principals from the Olympus Network presented an update on the progress of the Olympus Network’s Grade Reconfiguration Proposal. Six members of the public addressed the board concerning the proposal.

Action Items
The approved a second reading of Article V.C.1.b. – Turnaround Plans for Low Performing Schools as presented by Doug Larson, director of Policy & Legal Services.

The board approved a second reading of revisions to Article X. A.12. – Wellness, Nutrition, and Competitive Foods as presented by Doug Larson, director of Policy & Legal Services.
