The board interviewed seven individuals who submitted their names for consideration to fill the vacancy of resigning Granite School District board member Gayleen Gandy (Precinct VII). Gandy will resign her position in August, vacating a four-year term that began January 2018. After serving on the board since 2007, Gandy is leaving to serve an LDS mission.
The interviewees were: Ann Peterson, Deann Knobloch, Jesse Gilmore, Kristina Nguyen, Jackie Sudbury, Marni Allred, Michelle Asay, Dawn Warner, Lyle Christofferson, and Darrell Curtis. Of these, the board selected three finalists: Kristina Nguyen, Dawn Warner, and Darrell Curtis.
The finalists will be interviewed a second time during a public meeting on Tuesday, July 14. The board will appoint the successful candidate during the August 4 board meeting.
