Granite School District is a remarkable compilation of schools that serve the children in our various communities. The district spans from the Wasatch Front across the valley to the Oquirrh Mountains. The complexity of serving all the students in our schools is masterfully accomplished by the extraordinary faculty and staff we have in these amazing schools. It is thanks to the never-ending service of teachers that so many of our students are able to accomplish so much. GSD boasts some of the most honored and acclaimed students in all of Utah. These honors students receive are a similitude of the honor their teachers are due. The amazing teachers in Granite understand their students, know how to meet their individual needs and do all in their power to provide for them. It is the amazing teachers who make a school great for the students. It is the wonderful teachers in our district that make our school district such a great place for the students to learn, grow and achieve. I want to congratulate teachers for the belief you have in the capacity of your students and for drawing that out of them every day. Thank you, teachers, of the Granite School District for doing such a great job. You are seen, recognized and valued.
Principals in our district are anxiously engaged in helping to work with you in meeting the diverse needs of our students. They do many things that go unrecognized, and I want to try to change that. I hope you will identify something your principal does and share it with me so that I can recognize them for their efforts and impacts on behalf of teachers and students. This link will allow you to share something great about your principal. Each week I will recognize a principal for the things they do every day that make our schools so great for our students. Plus, all principals who receive a nomination will be notified and get to hear the lovely things you have to say about them!
This week I want to recognize Lindsey Weaver, the Principal at Hillside Elementary School. She tirelessly works to ensure the safety of her students. She has seen the need for additional resources and advocated on behalf of her school. She articulated a strong and reasoned rationale and was successful in currying support from various district departments to acquire what was needed for her school. She advocates every day for her teachers and students. This hard work pays off in the lives of her students. Thank you, Ms. Weaver for being so diligent, thoughtful, and professional as a powerful leader for Hillside Elementary School.
