At Hunter High, Nate Yamashita brings patience, kindness, and a heart of gold to his SEL Special Education classroom. He meets students where they are and helps them grow into their best selves every day! 

Before Hunter, he taught in an in-patient youth center, where he built strong connections (and proudly avoided getting punched! ). Now, with over a decade at Hunter, he continues to make a lasting impact.

Outside the classroom, Nate loves cooking (his Fideo is legendary!), playing video games with his kids, and working alongside his wife—also a teacher at Hunter!
