Dangerous Chromebook Social Media Trend:
Granite School District would like to make parents aware of a concerning trend circulating social media that has gained attention in recent weeks. The trend encourages students to intentionally jam mechanical pencil led into the power port of their Chromebook, causing a spark, smoking, or even a fire.
An article describing this trend can be found here: TikTok Trend: Chromebook Vandalism
Google Takeout
For individuals who are leaving Granite District at the end of the school year, Granite Google accounts are no longer active or accessible after graduation, retirement or leaving the district for other reasons. It’s important to backup any data you want to preserve. Allow yourself plenty of time to do this since it can be a lengthy process depending on how much data you will be backing up.
The preferred method of backing up your documents is by using the following instructions for Google Takeout.
If you need assistance with this process, please work with your school Technology Coach or Library Technology Coach.
It’s Time For State Testing
As many of our schools and students are carrying out state testing, we wanted to share these tips to help your students succeed:
– Get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast
– Make the morning relaxing and arrive at school on time.
– Pace yourself, read questions carefully, and don’t rush yourself.
