Lately, I’ve been reflecting on what matters most. My incredible wife and I are doing our best to raise our eight children, and we’re completely smitten with our new granddaughter. While my family means everything to me, like many of you, I spend much of my time focused on the students in our schools.
I care deeply about their well-being and success, and I’m grateful they’re guided by the talented educators of Granite School District. As Carol Dweck reminds us, “Teachers play such an important role in shaping the lives of children, in helping them discover what they can become.” Thank you for all you do to help them become their very best.
This week let’s recognize Kristin Gagon, principal at Morningside Elementary. Here’s what some of her teachers had to say about her:
“Kristin is an extremely supportive principal. She goes above and to make sure teachers have the help and support to help them deal with the challenges they face. She also works really hard to design creative solutions to problems presented by parents.
Kristin has a clear and focused vision for Morningside that involves building leadership capacity in her staff. She genuinely is open to their ideas and validates their concerns or questions. Kristin always has the students’ best interests at heart in every decision she makes. Kristin has made a positive impact on the Morningside staff, students, and community in her first year as a principal.”
