Teachers quietly stand on the front lines of children’s lives. Beyond teaching reading, math, and science, they walk with students through moments of fear, grief, uncertainty, and growth. When a child faces crisis or heartbreak, a teacher is often the steady adult who notices, listens, and lifts them up. In classrooms every day, teachers shape confidence, curiosity, and hope—often without recognition. As educator Rita Pierson famously said, “Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them.” That is exactly what great teachers are: champions who stand beside our children, guiding them not only toward knowledge, but toward becoming stronger, more capable people.
This week, we’re pleased to recognize Amy Haider, principal at Eisenhower Jr High. Here’s some of what one of her educators said in her nomination:
Ms. Haider has been an amazing leader amidst a year of change at Eisenhower Jr. Change is often difficult, though Ms. Haider has led us with purpose and intentionality. Our faculty meetings have been focused towards school goals and growth areas, our professional learning has been designed with clear learning objectives and immediate takeaways in mind, she has also worked with faculty to PLC better using data to drive MTSS. Ms. Haider is a leader, and she’s going to lead. I look forward to the changes she is bringing to help our faculty and school to continue to improve and grow.

Thank you, Amy! We truly appreciate all your efforts in supporting your students, educators, and the community of Eisenhower Jr High!
