The Granite School District Board of Education will have a vacancy in District 1 as of December 31, 2026.

If you would like to be considered for the vacancy in District I, please review the candidate information linked here (pdf) and complete the steps below. The filing window is August 5-19, 2026.

1. Review the position description (pdf) provided on our website.
2. File with the Superintendent’s office.
   • Download, complete and return a notarized Declaration of Candidacy form (pdf).
   • Submit resume.
   • We will verify candidate eligibility with the Salt Lake County Clerk.

Please note:

Interviews will take place at the Granite Education Center, (2500 S State Street) Tuesday, August 25, 2026, as early as 4:00 p.m. The interviews will be held in Auditorium A during a board meeting, open to the public. You will be contacted prior to August 25 to be given an interview time and additional instructions.

There may be a second round for interviews on September 1, 2026, prior to the 5:00 administrative session. The board will appoint a new member on September 1, 2026. The successful candidate’s term will begin January 2027, at which time he or she will take the Oath of Office.
