The West Valley City Police have lifted all protocols and school is proceeding as normal. We do not have any additional information to share at this time. In these situations, we follow the directions of law enforcement.

As of 10:30 am, Hunter High, Hunter Elementary, Hillside Elementary, Academy Park and Kennedy Junior School have been placed on a lockout protocol by West Valley City Police due to suspicious activity in the neighboring area. Police appear to be investigating potential shots fired in the neighborhood. There is no direct threat to our schools and the lockout is precautionary to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Some of our Hunter High student are off campus for lunch, and we are pulling them in as they return. PLEASE DO NOT come to the campus while this protocol is in place as you will not be allowed inside the building and can potentially jeopardize the effectiveness of the protocol. School is proceeding as normal on the inside of the building and police officers have secured the campuses. We will update you when we have more information from police.
