Kearns Jr. High, West Kearns Elementary, and Gourley Elementary have entered a SECURE protocol at the direction of law enforcement. The protocol was initiated by law enforcement out of an abundance of caution due to police activity in the neighborhood near the schools.
To be clear, there is no direct threat to our students or schools. Schools are proceeding as usual inside the buildings and students are safe.
Parents, please do not come to the school at this time. During a Secure Protocol, the outside doors are locked, and no one is allowed in or out of the building. School is proceeding as normal inside the building. To reiterate, this protocol has been initiated out of an abundance of caution at the direction of law enforcement.
Updates will be posted here.
