Granite Youth Symphony
Students who love music and want to strengthen their skills are invited to join the Granite Youth Symphony! The program offers both Junior and Senior Youth Symphony opportunities, giving students a chance to rehearse, perform, and grow as musicians alongside other talented young people from across Granite School District. The 2026–27 season begins Wednesday, September 2, with rehearsals from 4:00–5:30 p.m. every Wednesday at Cottonwood High School. Students should bring their instruments and register in advance. Free and Reduced School Meals
Families who may qualify for free or reduced-price school meals are encouraged to apply. Eligibility is based on household income or participation in certain programs. Only one application is needed for all students in the same household who attend Granite School District schools. Families can apply online through MySchoolApps or submit a completed application to Granite Nutrition Services. Students who qualify may also be eligible for other benefits, so families are encouraged to apply even if they are unsure whether they qualify. Federal eligibility for Free and Reduced Meals changes each school year on July 1st. Because of these annual changes, a new application must be submitted each school year.
Emergency Protocols
Please take a moment to review the district’s emergency response protocols by watching the video below or viewing Granite School District emergency response protocols. Communication with parents during emergency protocols will occur as quickly as possible through text messages and emails. Unless directed otherwise, please never come to the school during an emergency protocol.
Campus Visitor Access Reminder
We look forward to having Granite parents in our schools this year! For the safety of our students and staff, all visitors—including parents and guardians—must check in at the school office and present identification before accessing other areas of the building during school hours. Visitors will receive a badge or pass to wear while on campus, and they must also check out at the office when they leave. Thank you for helping us maintain safe, welcoming, and orderly learning environments for all students.

Truth in Taxation Hearing
Granite School District will hold a Truth in Taxation hearing on Tuesday, August 18, at 6:00 p.m. at Granite Education Center (2500 S. State Street). The hearing will provide information about the proposed property tax increase and give community members an opportunity to learn more and provide public comment.
