Open Enrollment Procedures
  1. Application Opens
    *Early Application Period: Nov. 15, 2025 – Feb. 6, 2026
  2. Submit Application
    Complete the online application for the correct year.
  3. Receive Confirmation
    Timestamped PDF sent to parent & school by email.
  4. Application Review
    Based on space & priority (feeder network/district residents).
  5. Receive Notification
    • Early applications: March 31st
    • Late applications: before school years begins
  6. Finalize Enrollment
    Parent confirms enrollment with school. If provisional, meet with admin & sign agreement.

*Regular acceptance during this period is based on the capacity of the building.

*Students already in a school’s feeder network and students who reside within Granite School District boundaries are given priority. Enrollment depends on space available in the requested school, grade, class, or program.

Open enrollment is grades for students in Kindergarten – 12th Grade who want to attend a Granite District school other than the student’s resident boundary school.

Appeals Process

Appeals Process

A denial of an Open Enrollment Application is typically a result of a program, grade, or school being at capacity enrollment and as such in most cases a school’s decision is final. A school may also deny enrollment if a student has been previously suspended or has chronic previous misbehavior.

Email Jared Reynolds to appeal a denied or revoked open enrollment application. Your email should include a letter detailing your reasons for the appeal. A school’s decision shall be upheld unless the decision is found, by clear and convincing evidence, to be in violation of district policy, applicable law or regulation, or to be arbitrary and capricious.
