GSD Ed Tech Tuesdays 2019-2020

The Granite School District Educational Technology Department is pleased to invite Granite educators to our Tech Tuesday Professional Development Courses.

Pick Five

1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month – 4:30-7:30

All Granite educators looking to add to or improve their use of technology in the classroom are invited to attend any of our Pick Five sessions. Topics for 2019-2020 will be announced in our Ed Tech Newsletter each month. You can also find them listed on the page linked below.

Sessions will be repeated twice each month: the first Tuesday of the month in the Ed Tech lab at the GEC (D-228) and the third Tuesday of the month at the Technology Learning Center (5300 W Cherrywood Lane, West Valley City).

All Granite educators are welcome to sign up to attend any of the sessions. Relicensure points are available. Attend at least 5 of the sessions and complete a portfolio assignment to receive 1 USBE credit.

Makerspaces

2nd Tuesday of each month – 4:30-7:30

Would you like to learn how to start or improve your classroom or school makerspace or even just learn more about what makerspaces are? In this course, you will learn:

  • what makerspaces are and why you should use them,
  • practical ways to start or improve your classroom or school makerspace,
  • tools and activities that you might consider including in a makerspace.

Though this course will be most beneficial if you attend all the sessions, all are welcome to sign up to attend any of the sessions. Relicensure points are available. Attend all of the sessions and complete a portfolio assignment to receive 1 USBE credit.

Click here to learn more and sign up for a session.

To view course details and schedules and sign up for sessions, view the GSD Ed Tech Tuesday website: tuesday.edtech.fun. If you have any questions, please send them to Jenny Peirce.
