Leadership in Blended and Digital Learning School Spotlight: Lake Ridge Elementary

November 2018Josh Whiting

Elementary school principals and technology specialists from the Leadership in Blended and Digital Learning (LBDL) cohort recently visited Lake Ridge Elementary in Magna.  In this site visit principals were able to step into several classrooms to see first-hand how teachers at Lake Ridge are transforming their classrooms using blended and digital learning strategies. In addition to taking what they saw back to their own schools, some participants shared snapshots with us via social media posts that we will share below. Thanks to Karly Chavez (principal), Keith Reidford (school technology specialist),  and the teachers and students featured below for allowing us into their classrooms.

So proud of my Lake Ridge Ts! Everyone at our #gsdDTL site visit was super impressed with what they saw in your classrooms! #LakeRidgeEdTech #gsdedtech pic.twitter.com/iDHTENXp7S

Ms. Bailey Gittins, 4th Grade

Loved visiting @bailojane class – students were making commercials with @WeVideo Directions are posted, kids are collaborating, everyone is engaged and on task! #gsdedtech #gsdDTL @graniteschools @EdTechGSD #LakeRidgeEdTech pic.twitter.com/U4nfk3zX8Y

All students on task and engaged thanks to @DeckToys – Ms. Heupel is moving around the room with her laptop and isn’t tied to the front of the room! Love seeing teachers embrace technology! #gsdedtech #gsdDTL @graniteschools @EdTechGSD #LakeRidgeEdTech pic.twitter.com/fOOSO6ppXy

Ms. Kaylynn Ebert, 2nd Grade

2nd graders working on small groups- teacher is able to work with students and everyone is on task. Best of all, “computers” isn’t part of her schedule, it is built into the day, which is how it should be #gsdedtech #gsdDTL @graniteschools @EdTechGSD #LakeRidgeEdTech pic.twitter.com/gsAvT1f47O
